Original Boer war Battlefield Communication. Hand written formal request to remove dead & wounded from battlefield, signed J D C Botha. Dated 17.8.1900 (Battle of Elands river 4-16 August 1900). Souvenired by William Beveridge Carter (signature at foot of note) of NSW Lancers, who later was enlisted as Major Carter with the 3rd Battalion, Gallipoli.
