France: Napoleon III, [1852-1870]. 1856 bronze medal by Vauthier-Galle & Cavelier, depicting the cradle given for the birth of his son Napoleon Eugene Louis Jean Bonaparte by the city of Paris. Obv: Representation of the cradle on a pedestal, surrounded by bees, with the coat of arms of Paris below. Rev: the newborn lies on a cushion, above the monogram 'N' under a bright star, in the foreground an eagle, to the sides angels with palm or laurel branch. 77 mm.
