Magnificent and very large George IV sterling silver footed salver, hallmarked, London, 1825, E.F (Edward Farrell), with a beautiful shaped acanthus adn scroll work surround, engraved with a central armorial 'Alis Volat Propriis' surrounded by a ground of engraved flower heads and scroll work, the whole raised upon tern acanthus feet, total weight 3667gms, diameter 56.5 cm. Note: the maker Edward Farrell is noted in Jacksons as a 'very interesting maker, producing important if at times eccentric (today very valuable) pieces'.
