Chinese late Qing (1880-1912) carved ivory tusk, with finely detailed carving depicting numerous figures performing a multitude of tasks set amongst blossoming trees, mounted on a carved hardwood stand, tusk length 106 cm approx, height as photographed 45 cm approx. Condition: several repairs, some missing pieces. Provenance: acquired by the vendor's parents (who were a traders) in India between 1920 and 1960 when they emigrated to Australia
