A fine early 19th century Australian cedar and ebony strung chest of drawers, the rectangular top above two short and three long graduated drawers all decorated with Greek key stringing above a shaped apron with splayed bracket feet, 115 cm wide, 54 cm deep, 113 cm high. Note: The use of ebony as an inlaid decoration on Australian furniture is uncommon, although it was favoured by a cabinet maker in Sydney called Thomas Shaunessy few cabinet makers used the out swept bracket feet due to the difficulty of the design.
