A pre-European Maori carved pounamu hei tiki, the top of the head with old pre-European scarf and snap cut, the body of mid to pale tone with semi-translucence, the head with evidence of being in a fire. Length 9.3 cm, width 6.6 cm. Note: it is possible that due to difficulty in drilling a suspension hole to the top that pre-European modifications to this hei tiki were in progress, however unfinished. Provenance: The Flower Family Collection.
