A Satsuma earthenware bowl by Kinkozan, Meiji period, with shallow rounded sides, painted on the interior in colours and gilding with a flowering peony tree bearing large blooms, buds and foliage, and with two butterflies in flight, all within the narrow shaped diaper border around the gilt-edged rim, the base signed in black Kinkozan. 31.5 cm diameter.
