Victoria - District of Ballarat: December 1895 Water-Right Regulations Licence issued in favour of the 'New Mariner Gold Mining Company' who were 'carrying on mining operations at Steiglitz' granting permission to 'take and divert water....the quantity thereof not to exceed....two hundred and forty thousand gallons per diem [per day].....[for fifteen years] for 'the yearly sum of three pounds sterling...' A hand-drawn map on the second page shows the area of the permit, which is signed on the front by Thomas, Baron Brassey, Governor of Victoria 1895-1900.
