A George III bracket clock, John Holmes, London, circa 1800, the brass lined shallow break arch ebonised case with handle to the triple pad top, glazed, brass rimmed panels to each side. The circular enamel dial with inner Roman numerals and an outer minute ring with Arabic numerals at five minute intervals. The dial with pierced blued steel hands. Foliate spandrels and enamel strike silent dial in the arch. The rear winding movement with verge escapement, twin barrels and fusees with gut lines and rack striking on a bell. The rectangular backplate with champhered top corners. Profusely engraved with exotic birds and foliage around a cartouche signed John Holmes - London, 26 cm high, 19 cm wide, 15 cm deep
