An important bracket clock, Benjamin Vulliamy, circa 1810, the silvered Roman numeral dial and fitted thermometer in a polished skeletonized frame, above a mahogany base with brass and floral marquetry inlay. Horizontal steel bow to top supporting weights with gilded eagle perched on a bronze ball in the centre of bow. Pull wind, weight driven movement. All encased under a dome and accompanied by mirrored marquetry and mother of pearl wall bracket, the clock 61 cm high, 40 cm wide, 14 cm deep. Provenance: Leonard Joel, September 30th, 1982, lot 190
