Victorian silver-gilt dessert service, mark of Francis Higgins, London, c. 1863-1973, setting for twelve, comprising twelve dessert forks, twelve dessert knives, twelve dessert spoons, twelve teaspoons, six fluted bowl spoons, one sugar sifter spoon, one crema ladle, one pair of grape scissors, each piece crested with the Middleton family crest and motto 'Fortis in Arduis', in a fitted oak canteen with brass mounts, engraved 'W. F. Middleton', and label 'Hunt and Roskell late Storr and Mortimer Goldsmith and Silversmith to the Queen, 156 new Bond St. London' (57), weight 2862 grams. Provenance: Purchased from C. J.
