A pair of exceptional Japanese shibiyama and silver cloisonne vases, Meiji period, baluster shape with fluted and scalloped neck raised on a high domed triform base. The necks and shoulders of silver with clusters and racemes of cloisonne flowers, the swollen gold lacquered bodies decorated with shibiyama (aogai, mother of pearl, coral, stained ivory and horn) of birds and flowering plants, the silver bases with conforming cloisonne decoration.
