A bottle studio pottery vase by Carl McConnell (1926-2003), circa 1965 the facetted sides with combed decoration, 30 cm high other notes: Chicago born Carl McConnell became the most significant potter in post World War II Brisbane as he introduced porcelain and stone firing techniques to Brisbane. As with many Studio potters of his generation he was profoundly influenced by Bernard Leach's 'A Potters Book'.
