An old Japanese tanto short sword, with papers from the Japanese Art Sword Preservation Association, signed tang, engraved with five character marks to one side of the blade three the other. The shagreen grip with acorn and oak leaf menuki and kashira. Blade length 33.4 cm. The lacquered scabbard with brass fittings.
