A pair of uncommon Satsuma vases, of exaggerated inverse baluster form decorated with figures of embattled samurai on a cloudy blue-grey background. Moriage and gilt diaper patterns encircle the shoulder and foot. Raised on wooden bases. Height 41 cm. Provenance: The Collection of Sir Neil and Lady Waters.
