Description:
An Italian marble sculpture of a Diving maiden 'La Tuffolina', signed and dated 1879 by Odoardo. Tabacchi, Torino'. Displayed on a decorative painted and gilded pedestal. The diver 116 cm high, 36 cm wide 85 cm deep. The pedestal 105 cm high, 46 cm wide, 46 cm deep. Note: the original version was exhibited at the Paris international Exhibition of 1878. Due to its great celebrity this model was cast in bronze in different sizes, of which an exemple is in the Museo di Capodimonte, Naples.
