Set of Victorian hallmarked sterling silver fruit knives and forks. Hallmarked Birmingham 1856. Maker John Gilbert. Silver blades, tines and collars. Mother of pearl handles. The collars engraved with crest for Martin Family. Together with four other fruit knives and forks. EPNS mounts and ivory handles. Provenance: Mary Martin and Wilfrid Inman estate. Sir James Martin (1820-1866) Chief Justice and Premier of NSW; thence his daughter, Mary Martin (m. Inman 1897); thence Inman family descendants.
