William Ellis Green Oam (1923 - 2008), who signed his cartoons Weg, was a newspaper editorial cartoonist and illustrator who drew the Australian Football League premiers posters from 1954 until his death. The 1975 VFL Grand Final was contested between Hawthorn and North Melbourne. It was held at the M.C.G. on 27 September 1975. It was the 79th annual Grand Final of the Victorian Football League, attended by 110,551 spectators, and won by North Melbourne by a margin of 55 points, marking that club's first premiership victory. In so doing, it became the last of the 12 VFL teams to win the flag.
