Large quarto, 300 x 340 mm, full pigskin (rubbed) with tooled decoration and gilt rule, owner's name 'Frederick Brock' inscribed on the decorative title page. The album contains 48 large format albumen print photographs (approx. 210 x 150 mm), mounted on boards, all with contemporary handwritten captions in pen. The majority are of locations in Victoria and include views of Melbourne, the Dandenongs, Cape Schank, Sorrento, Geelong, Queenscliff, Aborigines at Corranderrk, etc., as well as views of Adelaide, New Zealand, a native house at Levuka, Fiji, a Kanak village, New Caledonia, Sydney Heads and a few foreign.
