Universal Exhibition, Paris 1878, Small oblong album with original blind blocked red cloth boards, gilt lettering and ornamentation (Nilsson, Paris, 1878), containing 18 albumen print photographs, each 66 x 101 mm, mounted on think album leaves with gilt edges and printed captions. The images are all in fine condition but are detached from the boards. Among the views of the 1878 Exhibition is a rare in situ image of the Australian Hut, a replica of a settler's log hut made expressly for the Colony of Victoria's display. The album also contains views of the Chinese, Algerian, Dutch and other pavilions.
