Masonic Welcome to Captain Benjamin Gale Humfrey of the 46th Regiment of Foot (South Devonshire), 1817, A formal welcome, 'under the Canopy of Heaven' in manuscript on vellum with original wax seal, initiating Humfrey into 'the Royal Arch Chapter Mount Horeb No.227 under the registry of Ireland in due form assembled in Sydney in New South Walesn where reign Silence, Union and peace this 24th Day of February..A.D.1817. The 46th Regiment of Foot served in the very young Colony between 1814 and 1818, most of the officers and men arriving in NSW on the ships which also brought the convicts they would be overseeing.
