(Women's Suffrage) Matters, Muriel (1877-1969), Autographed letter sheet (3-pages, folded) from Matters at her Regent's Park London home, to a Mrs Berkeley (dated March 10th) circa 1910, in which she explains that as she has 'promised practically all of (her) time to the N(ational) U(nion) of Women's Suffrage Society..' she has little time available for her own work at that time, however 'If I gave you a few weeks notice before-hand would it be possible to arrange a meeting then' My fee is one guinea. Muriel Lilah Matters was an Adelaide born suffragist, lecturer, journalist, educator, actress and elocutionist. Based in Britain from 1905 till her death, Matters is best known for her work on behalf of the Women's Freedom League during the height of the militant struggle to enfranchise women in the United Kingdom.
