A large Burmese Buddha seated on a low plinth, 18th-20th century, the young, round face, with finely arched brows framing the downcast eyes, with long ears flaring outward below the tightly curled hair, held back by a headband, a ushnisha on the crown of his head, wearing an off the shoulder robe with pleat-like folds falling down the body on the front & reverse, hands in the mudra of the earth touching gesture. Provenance: Barry Smith collection, condition: the patina is flat bronze-gold, a pin on the plinth on the reverse, where it was once possibly attached, height 53 cm, width 46 cm
