A Carved Fruit And Foliate Collar Necklace, the rectangular plaques of bone carved to resemble various fruits, including grape, pineapple and citrus, alternating with foliage clusters in textured two-colour gold and silver, The Buccellati name has been known in the world of jewellery and silversmithing since the middle of the eighteenth century. An inheritor of this long tradition, Mario Buccellati established the present house in Milan in 1919. Following his death in 1965, the business was taken over by his four eldest sons. Buccellati still produces jewellery in small workshops, with skilled artisans who are considered the best in Italy.
