A large three-tier hardwood carry box, comprising a cover and three stacked trays, the sides and cover with recessed panels carved in relief with pairs of stylised chilong, set into a recessed base frame with an arched handle secured to the cover by a long locking pin, the wood of dark tone resembling zitan, 41 cm high, 49.5 cm wide, 29.7 cm deep. The design of these tiered carry boxes originated from food boxes, made mostly of bamboo and lightweight woods for easy carriage. These carry boxes are probably used to contain valuables.
