A Swazi headrest, Swaziland, South Africa, evocative of a stylised bovid, the cylindrical lintel enlivened by a central pendant, raised on blackened flared supports, engraved with broad vertical striations, 13 cm high, 39 cm wide, 7 cm deep. According to Joubert and Valentin (2002: 263), the vertical striations recall the isidwaba, leather worn by married women.
