A Dayak sword, with carved bone handle on finely wrought steel blade incorporating intricate barbed protrusions with wooden scabbard. a 'Mandau' is the typical sword used in headhunting. the con caved, con-curved blade is inlaid with brass figures of 'Mata Kalong' (four mirrored large S-shapes near the hilt) and 'Mata Joh' (S-shaped figures), the hilt is bone, carved in a stylised bear form and 'Aso' figures.
