Description:
A large-scale model of the clipper ship 'Canterbury', 1242 tons, built in Glasgow in 1874, she brought thousands of immigrants to New Zealand. Housed in a purpose built glazed, kauri framed display vitrine raised on a table base. Once the property of the 154-year old Auckland Club and displayed in its Shortland Street rooms this model moved to the Northern Club when the former merged with it in 2010, subsequently it was sold.
