A significant Coalport comport with the Mcauliffe Family crest, 1805-10, by James Donovan of Dublin, decorators and retailers, decorated in the French manner to three shaped reserves with pairs of brightly coloured birds in landscapes upon a lavishly gilt embellished cobalt ground with floral sprigs, a loose bouquet centrally; see same crested plate illustrated in Godden, Coalport and Coalbrookdale Porcelains (1970), colour plate 1 height 8 cm, diameter 25 cm
