Robert Southey, 1774-1843, The Life of Nelson, Published by John Murray, Bookseller to the Board of Longitude, Albemarle Street, London, 1828, 4 vols, red morocco with gilt covers, marbled end papers, Illustrated with 13 letters and documents, 94 portraits, 54 views, naval scenes and monuments, autographs, 2 sketches of Lady Hamilton, four battle plans, (one coloured) plus a Nelson Memorial with letters, extracts and proceedings for Lord Nelson's funeral 1805-1806., each volume 41 x 31.7 cm. Other Notes: The considerable extra inclusions relating to the life and death of Lord Nelson in this extraordinary work were to the commission of the London branch of the Astor family and include an attached receipt from the bookseller, Francis Harvey, 4 St James Street, S.W. dated 1877.
