A rare George Boyd Newton pottery 'Dolphin Flower Pot and Stand', the jardiniere decorated with cherubs, some riding dolphins, in repeating panels on a stand with three classically styled dolphins supporting the upper dish with their tails, on triform base, variable rich blue glaze, small repair and minor chip to base, the jardiniere with impressed oval Makers mark. Note: Mention has been made that these pieces were specifically for display at the Dunedin exhibition of. This piece is extremely finely modelled and is only one of a handful of examples known. Height 45.4 cm
