A Japanese Yonezawa style lacquer Clothing chest Tansu, Meiji period, circa 1868-1912, of zelkova and cryptomeria wood construction, deep lacquered finish with round iron lock plates engraved in a butterfly motif. Forged 'Mokko' (melon style) drawer pulls on four large and one small draw and hinged door. From the Yonezawa region of northern Japan, 89 cm x 46 cm x 99 cm.
