Japanese scroll, work on paper, Suzuki Shonen, scroll painting of the setting sun and finely rendered pine branch, 135 x 63 cm. Provenance: The collection of a Curator & Collector, New South Wales. Other Notes: Suzuki Shônen was a major Kyoto-based Nihonga artist of the late Meiji period. A versatile artist, Shônen is known not only for his landscapes, but also for bird and flower paintings as well as figural paintings.
