M.B.E medal civil type two, in Royal mint case and engraved part silver lid for the 1st Battalion 42nd Highlanders with signatures of banner Carruthers Johnstone (Olympic Oarsman 1908), Francis Anderson (military cross winner), Lg Miles, and a Fowler' 1918. The medal probably belonged to Francis Anderson Son.
