An Australian sterling silver claret jug attributed to Edward Fischer, Geelong, of baluster form with scroll handle, the body engraved with foliate work around two cartouches featuring an engraved scene of two horses racing & 'Hay jockey club Member's cup 1877. Won by Mr C Cox's grey gelding 'Silvertail, marks on the base 'Sterling' & ' silver, llustrated: Hawkins, Australian Silver1800-1900, page 115-116., two identical examples of E Fischer silver claret jugs were previously sold at Bonhams & Goodman, Sydney 2008 & Lawsons Vizard Foundation Lot 85
