A 19th century French Empire period sculptural ormolu bronze mantel clock, modeled as a cherub riding upon a mer-lion (a morse); its uplifted tail enfolds a drum shaped case with eight day striking movement, the dial with Roman numerals. The mechanism with silk suspended pendulum, the spring dated 'April 1826'. All raised on an oval plinth base with an applied trophy group, a border of conch shells and with squat bun feet.
