A Tibetan Buddhist thick wool rug, the square with small and large key fret pattern, 19th/20th century, made from the highland sheep for Monastic use as a sitting carpet, a swastika symbol in the centre within a circular medallion. Provenance: Purchased from Teresa Coleman Tibetan gallery, HK, original receipt, note: Swastika is an ancient Buddhist symbol, meaning eternal happiness.
