A bronze frog drum, with a central star and elephants walking from the base, Laos, 19th/20th century, used in the ritual life of the Karen, a distinct minority from the mountains, a pair of frogs are placed on four equidistant points on the perimeter of the tympanum, a vertical seam, engraved auspicious motifs in each of the concentric circles, characteristic of drums for resonance and the tympanum quality.
