A 19th century French Enamelled Jewel Case The rectangular body decorated with applied ceramic panels painted in enamel with classical vignettes depicting the senses of taste, touch, hearing and smell, the stepped top enclosing a velvet lined jewel compartment above two doors with conforming enamelled decoration showing symbols of music and art, opening to an interior fitted with four short and two long drawers, the whole with gadrooned gilt metal mounts and fleur de lys to the corners, raised on four acanthus leaf moulded gilt metal feet, 19.5 x 23 x 14 cm.
