A Nepalese polychrome wood sectional Torna, circa 17th century, covered with a red lacquer background, deeply carved at the top with a large seated figure of Garuda flanked by two Makara standing on large serpents above a seated Ganesh, a partly illegible Newari inscription across the bottom, which includes 'Twice Blessed Ganesh' and would have included a date, decorated with green, blue and gold lacquer., 101 cm long, 81 cm high, *the archway would have originally be installed above the door way of a Hindu shine of Ganesh.
