A zitan ink cake stand, Qianlong period (1736-1795), finely carved in the form of an open leaf, the edges curling inward, the stem forming a natural handle, supported on smaller leafy fruiting branches under the base, the dark timber finely flecked, 10.2 cm long, 6 cm wide. Reference: Sotheby's Hong Kong, 'Water, Pine and Stone Retreat, Playthings', 2/6/2016, cat no 117 shows a small zitan shaped tray, 12.1 cm.
