A 19th century French Kingwood Parquetry, Rosewood And Gilt Metal Mounted Writing Case The arched hinged rectangular lid centred by a gilt metal garniture modelled as two putti seated either side of a vacant cartouche, above a lockable hinged front section inset with three oval porcelain medallions painted with wild flowers, opening to a rosewood interior fitted with stationary dividers, a pen compartment and two glass ink wells, the fall front centred by a further oval porcelain medallion painted with conforming floral decoration opening to a blue felt inset writing slope and a rosewood storage compartment, the whole with kingwood parquetry inlaid decoration and gilt metal mounts, 37 x 33 x 33 cm.
