A collection of ten World War I medals and medallions France, Germany and possibly Serbia, including a 1914 Reims commemorative medallion, a 1915 Lusitania commemorative medallion, a Dames de Croix rouge rectangular medallion, three small medalets, a medallion signed Daniel Dupuis inscribed Jeanne d'Arc Liberatrice du Territoire, two 'Ronautical medallions one signed Alexandre Morlon and a small bronze plaque mounted on a verde marble base,together with three Australian commemorative medallions, the largest medallion measuring height 7 cm. Width 10 cm. (13). Provenance: This collection of medals and medallions belonged to olive King, the Sydney heiress who went off to World War I in 1914 to drive an ambulance in Europe. Ms King purchased her own ambulance and had it converted to seat sixteen patients or four stretcher beds. She saw action in Belgium, France and in the mountains of Northern Greece with the Serbian army. Olive King was decorated with several medals for bravery including the Order of St.Sava, the highest award for humanitarian service in Serbia. She died in 1958
