A Victorian Scottish sterling silver coffee pot maker's mark J McKay, Edinburgh 1849 raised on a circular foot, the body of baluster form decorated with chased and embossed floriate motifs centred by a vacant cartouche with etched armorial cresting, the waisted neck flanked by a leaf capped silver handle with ivory filets and spout with conforming decoration, rising to a hinged cover with stylised leaf thumb piece and further floriate decoration, surmounted by a leaf and bud finial, 866 grs.
