A blue and white 'phoenix' dish seal mark and period of Daoguang, with shallow rounded sides and lipped rim, painted on the interior with a pair of stylised phoenix with wings splayed in flight among clouds, in a central medallion within double line borders, and repeated in a frieze on the exterior, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark, 16.3 cm diameter.
