A Ming-style celadon vase, stoutly potted of elongated pear shape springing from a short splayed foot and tapering to a slightly waisted neck, the sides carved with a dragon fly hovering over flowering lotus above a band of petals, a frieze of cloud scrolls and upright stiff leaves rising to the lipped mouth, covered overall with a sea-green glaze falling short of the foot ring burnt orange in the firing, 40 cm high
