A Queen Anne sterling silver Tankard Maker's mark probably Humphrey Payne, London 1710 The body of compressed cylindrical form raised on a banded foot, having continuous bands of chased, embossed and engraved floriate and foliate decoration, each side centred by a cartouche with engraved crest and armorial, flanked by a scrolling handle terminating in a blank shield and capped by a stylised leaf thumb piece, the stepped dome lid with a leaf banding, centred by a chased and embossed floral arrangement, 1246 grs., 24 cm high.
