A Victorian sterling silver wine jug, maker's mark possibly Martin, hall & Co. Ltd, London, 1884 of ovoid form raised on a stepped circular foot, the body decorated with a continuous chased and engraved foliate pattern centred by a vacantcartouche flanked by a scrolling handle with bone fillets, the tapering neck with bands of conforming decoration rising to an everted rim surmounted by a hinged bell shaped cover and bun finial, 544 grs.
