A Doulton Burslem Art Pottery Vase Circa 1880 Of tapering cylindrical form, painted with the portrait of a gentleman in green robes holding a book, inscribed Nicholas Poussin, within an ornate scrolling acanthus leaf surround, the reverse decorated with an urn and further foliage in tones of green, gold and brown, the rim inscribed with the words trouble being gone comfort should remain, painted mark Doulton and impressed 1040 to base, 31.5 cm high.
