Louis XVI Pendule de Cheminee clock showing abundant Egyptian influence. the case of white marble in the form of an Egyptian pylon carring a gilt tambour. Lavish use of gilt caryatids, gilt floral mounts, two fine bronze sphinxes & an Imperial eagle clutching a serpent. The motif is repeated on the pendulum. Very fine handmade movement, silk suspension, striking hours & half hours on a single bell, with a pendulum. Condition good, working order. Height 60.5 cm
